like it’s not automatically a sinister thing to be an adult content creator with a younger fanbase, but you have to maintain clear boundaries if you’re in that situation and so many people don’t. you have to make it clear that you’re an adult and you’re in a different place in your life than a 15 year old, and you can’t be interacting with nsfw stuff kids create—yes, even if they send it to you! there’s no epidemic of underage fans “harassing” grown ass adults, there’s an epidemic of creepy fucking adults who position themselves as “one of the kids” and cross all kinds of boundaries of appropriateness when interacting with kids and often even seek out more interaction from those kids.
this is a one-sided issue. kids and adults are not on equal playing fields, they’re just not. you don’t get to shift blame or responsibility to a demographic that’s highly susceptible to abuse and manipulation, even without the added factor of celebrity thrown into the mix.
while i’m on the topic: yes this post was prompted by the tommy sandals incident but he’s far from the only adult to act like he #totally relates to the kids and teens who follow him around. remember all the youtubers who have been found to have manipulated or abused their very young fans? remember halsey kissing underage fans onstage? remember every skinny indie band dude who definitely enjoys attention from young girls way too much?
just because you’re an icon or whatever among young people doesn’t mean you’re actually a young person. it’s disgusting how many adults will willfully conceal that fact just because kids look up to them and want their approval.
please do not accuse 15 yr olds of being pedophilia apologists. theyre misguided children. if an adult is spouting pedophilia apologism they are a danger and should be attacked, but if a child is then they are IN danger of becoming a victim, and need to be informed for their own safety.

not to mention that most kids literally and physically CAN’T understand how young they seem to older people. Kids don’t can’t grasp their young-ness until they’re old enough to look back and really see.
So for a young person to imagine a young character in a relationship with an older one, they don’t see the problem. As adults it’s important we take the time to educate kids about this, but don’t condemn them if they don’t immediately understand because they’re not able to see the big picture yet.
The older I get the more fiercely protective I get of younger girls. I was heading into work yesterday and I saw that 12 year old (I mentioned her before, the one who wore makeup) talking to this older man. She’s normally really bubbly but she looked a little more subdued talking to him so I go over and loudly say “Hey sweetheart, who’s this?” And the guys just glares at me and she says “oh um his name is Justin.” And I’m like “Hi Justin, how do you know her?” And he gets nervous and is like “I just saw her jogging and thought I’d give her pointers.” So I just kinda tilted my head and looked at him for a minute. He literally asked me “are you a cop or something? I haven’t done anything wrong.” So I took her to the McDonald’s near by, bought her something and had a talk about not talking to strangers. Low key I’m debating the next time I see her parents (they drop her off at the gym and leave her there for hours) to maybe have a talk with them or something. Idk if it’s my place tho
Just to add because some messaged me saying that I was being a nosey bitch: so a woman who used to go to my gym (and my same university. Like I used to see her at my job and on campus) actually went missing not far from my intersection (literally a 5 min walk away from the major intersection) on may 10 and they found her body literally last week (June 19). Everyone has been on high alert lately so when I saw this random dude talking to this little girl, my brain immediately went into defence panic mode. So yeah call me nosey if you want
